The Sphinx Salon
In pursuit of life's great mysteries we find fulfilment and illumination. The journey is not just about arriving, but also about who we become in the process of questioning itself.
The sphinx serves as a gatekeeper to divine mysteries. It is said in Greek mythology that the sphinx had two riddles given to her by Hermes:
“What is it that has one voice, yet becomes four-footed in the morning, two-footed at noon, and three-footed in the evening?"
“There are two sisters: one gives birth to the other, and the second, in turn, gives birth to the first. Who are the two sisters?"
On the first Sunday of every month come along to the Sphinx Salon at the Ballarat Mechanics Institute as we delve into the enigmas of the arcane. The Sphinx Salon offers a monthly boutique lecture or workshop on topics pertaining to Western Esotericism - alchemy, astrology, kabbalah, magick, tarot, theurgy & more. The event serves as the monthly social meet up affiliated with Mercurialia, showcasing many of the speakers and friends of the event.
Enjoy the community of like minded folk with time to socialise over tea, coffee & Devonshire scones, made properly - with clotted cream.
